Are You Supposed To Wear Rosary Beads Around Your Neck. If the reason for wearing a rosary is as a statement of faith as a reminder to pray it or some similar reason to the glory of God then there is nothing to object to. It can only be worn around the neck as a sacramental and not for mundane purposes.
A rosary is meant to draw a person closer to God but fashion is meant to attract people to the wearer. So it is okay to wear it around the neck as long as you are aware of its meaning and power. However it isnt necessarily endorsed.
Either it is worn for a devotional reason or as a fashion accessory.
I guess its fine if you wear the rosary around your neck as long as you dont flaunt it. My family is quite religion and I own two set of rosary beads. It would also appear that in some parts of the United States and elsewhere wearing rosary beads around the neck has become a gang-related badge of identification. Rosaries are not meant to be worn as necklaces and it is somewhat of a Catholic rule not to do so.
